The Civic Centre is a central landmark in the heart of the regional capital, Newcastle upon Tyne.  The Civic Centre was formally opened by His Majesty King Olav V of Norway on the 14 November 1968.  The Civic Centre which is considered to be a modern classic of its time is Grade II listed and has nine huge flambeaux that span the entrance to this beautifully designed building. Easily accessible by all major motorway links, the centre is just five minutes from Newcastle Central Station and is only fifteen minutes from Newcastle International Airport.  Hotels of every description and price range are on the doorstep, and is just short stroll away from the shops, bars, restaurants, theatres, art galleries, museums and other historical landmarks that have made Newcastle upon Tyne one of the most animated and exciting cities in Europe.

The Annual Conference provides the opportunity for delegates to present their current research, develop their academic network, and an opportunity for the professional bodies and publishers to meet with academicsand promote dialogue between them.

Papers are invited in all areas of accounting and finance.  Anyone wishing to present their work should submit full papers by Friday 4 January 2013 using the on-line facility on the BAFA’s web-site (available from 1 November).
