The first ever BA-BAFA Small Grant Award winner has been announced

We have confirmation of the winner of our inaugral BA-BAFA Small Grant Award. Four projects were shortlisted by a small group consisting of the BAFA chair of trustees, the BAFA president and the chair of CPAF. All four projects will receive a small grant award but only one, Silvia Gaia, will be formally recognised as the BAFA award.

When congratulating Silvia on her win, she had this response:

"I am very pleased to have received this research grant from the British Academy. It will contribute to my personal and professional development as it provides me with the opportunity to develop an interesting research project that investigates shareholder voting in closely held firms. Corporate governance is my main research area, which I have been investigating since my PhD. In addition to corporate governance, my research work is also focused on financial and social-environmental reporting."
