CALL FOR PAPERS: 12th African Accounting & Finance Conference

Submission Deadline: 28 April 2023 

The 12th African Accounting & Finance conference will take place at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra, Ghana. 

The Main Conference: 6-8 September 2023
Emerging Scholars Colloquium: 5 September 2023 will be held at the China Europe International Business School Africa.

The African Accounting and Finance Association (AAFA), established in 2011, is Africa’s leading accounting and finance association. One of the distinguishing features of AAFA is to embrace all African regions to participate and engage with scholars from across the continent and diaspora.

Submission of Manuscripts

We invite submissions focusing on Africa as well as in other contexts/countries. See the full Call for Papers for the list of topics.

Main conference

Only full papers, including an abstract of no more than 300 words, will be considered for the conference. Information on the portal to be used for submissions will be provided soon.

Emerging Scholars Colloquium

The 2023 AAFA Annual Emerging Scholars Colloquium will take place on Tuesday, 5 September 2023 at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) Africa. The colloquium aims to bring together emerging researchers (e.g., doctoral and MPhil Students) to present their work-in-progress and receive feedback from established scholars in the field and to network with their peers and other delegates. Doctoral submissions can be in the form of a full/draft paper (including an abstract of no more than 500 words and a cover page with details of the author(s)) or in the form of a 500 word abstract with a cover page. Information on the portal to be used for submissions will be provided soon.

Awards and Prizes

Thanks to our generous sponsors, top prizes, awards and access to resources will be awarded to a number of delegates and students. These include the following prizes:

Two prizes for the best papers of the Emerging Scholars Colloquium (PhD presentations in English and French) offered by the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand.

Offered up to twenty-five (25) doctoral students for two (2) years a free membership of the EAA, giving free access to EAA journals and to the entire EAA-ARC website and related resources.

The best female AAFA Researcher offered by The British Accounting Review. Free BAFA membership for selected parties.
